Have you heard of Pond Hopper Nation? If not, you soon will.

Pond Hopper Nation is a relatively new venture with a worthy mission: to educate the next generation of anglers on fishing, boating, and conservation. Founded in 2017, this fledgling organization has grown rapidly over the past two years, and we are proud to have Pond Hopper Nation as an official supporter of Wildlife Enthusiast Magazine.

Pond Hopper Nation organizes and manages a number of fishing education events for children each year with the primary objective of teaching the next generations of anglers how to fish. At every “Teach a Child to Fish Day,” all the children who attend are provided with free fishing rods, free tackle, and free Pond Hopper Nation T-shirts to not only help teach them the basics of how to fish, but also to bring families and communities closer together.

Pond Hopper NationMore than 500 people volunteer in 20-plus states to help with Teach a Child to Fish Day events each year. Those Pond Hopper Nation volunteers truly make a difference in the lives of thousands of children across the U.S.

Pond Hopper Nation also has several prominent sponsors that support the organization’s efforts, including Major League Fishing, SeaArk Boats, and Anderson Toyota in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Some of the events are also co-hosted by the Lady Bass Anglers Association.

“It’s awesome to have events teaching kids to fish, introducing them to the outdoors, and getting them out of the house,” SeaArk President Steve Henderson said. “Fishing is better than a video game any day of the week, and we hope these events demonstrate that to the kids. We look forward to working with Pond Hopper Nation again on future events.”

Pond Hopper Nation founder Albert Talafuse said, “Founding Pond Hopper Nation was supposed to be a short-term commitment, but it is becoming a lifelong endeavor. We’re so fortunate to be able to impact the lives of others, while partnering with some of the most passionate and driven fishing organizations and businesses across this great nation.”
